  Statistical Abstract of the United States -- "The authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States," published since 1878
  **new**Country Watch -- Provides country-specific data including demographic, political, economic, business, and cultural information.
  Oxford Reference Online Database - access to over 140 online reference books  
  CQ Electronic Library --  a series of databases focusing on American government. The collection includes original content, current information, statistics, analysis, and comprehensive coverage in a range of government-related topics
  **new** Encyclopedia of Research Design -- a collection of entries covering how to plan and conduct empirical research, including the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  **new**Encyclopedia of U.S. Political History (CQ Press) -- Explores the events, policies, activities, institutions, groups, people, and movements that have created and shaped political life in the United States from the 1500s to the present day.
  The Contemporary Middle East: A Documentary History -- an online reference book which contains primary source documents from 1917 to the present day.  From CQ Press
  Oxford Islamic Studies Online -- Offers information on the religion and culture of Islam   
  THOMAS  (Library of Congress)  -- Databases providing access to the full texts of bills and laws from the United States Congress, the daily Congressional Record, relevant proceedings and proposed legislation, committee reports, and roll call votes, variously available from the present back to the 93rd Congress (1973)
