  New Catholic Encyclopedia  --  Online encyclopedia covering theology, philosophy, history, literary figures and more
Bible Commentaries, Dictionaries and Encyclopedias are located in the "Small Reference Room".  Browse the collection to locate books that may help you with your topic.  We have many versions of the bible available for you to use in the library as well.

  ATLA Religion Database -- index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion. Subjects: antiquities and archaeology, Bible, church history, ecumenism, ethics, missions, pastoral ministry, philosophy, religions and religious studies, theology
  JSTOR -- an online archive of academic journals in all fields. Articles generally become available here 3-5 years after publication.
  Academic Search Premier -- scholarly collection provides journal coverage for most academic areas of study

  Library Catalog -- search by subject, keyword, author or title!
  Tip:  use the "subject" search to look for bible commentaries in the circulating collection.  In "browse" search by subject and the the LC subject heading:  bible o.t. "name of book" or bible n.t. "name of book"

Web Resources
  Christian Classics Ethereal Library -- based at Calvin College, CCEL's goal is to make available online the most important public domain works for theological study.  Includes full text of the World Wide Study Bible, the World Wide Encyclopedia of Christianity, Early Church Fathers, and many other classic Christian books.  
  e-Sword -- downloadable versions of the bible.  Selected commentaries, dictionaries and encyclopedias available as well.  Mostly a free site; however some portions are fee based. 
  Bible Gateway -- access to versions of Scripture, in English and other languages.
  Online Book Portals & Gateways -- Links for locating books that are in the public domain
