PubMed Central --This is the open access portal for all government funded research publications after six months 

    BioMed Central -- Online publisher of free peer-reviewed scientific articles in all areas of medical research and biology
    Public Library of Science -- Peer-reviewed, open access scientific and medical journals that include original research
  Biological Abstracts -- a complete collection of bibliographic references covering life science and biomedical research literature published from more than 4,000 journals internationally
  MEDLINE -- provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more
  ScienceDirect College Edition - Health & Life Sciences Journal Collection  --  access to peer-reviewed health and life sciences journal articles 
 

Science Citation Index   --  Researchers can search citation data (from the footnotes of each article), taking a known, relevant paper or work and finding other, more recent papers that cite it.

Finding Books [help]
  Library Catalog -- search by subject, keyword, author or title!
  Tip:  use the advanced search feature to search by subject and title.  This is a good way to start a search w/out knowing a specific title.    For example:  "ethics" as title and "biology" as subject.  Find a book that looks promising and navigate through the catalog using the subject headings in the box on the right on the screen!
 
Web Resources
  Plant Evolution Timeline( Univ of Cambridge, UK) -- designed primarily to aid Plant Scientists studying at the university of Cambridge with their learning of plant evolution. The public site is a cut-down version of the full tool, which contains some copyrighted information.
  International Plant Names Index -- Database of the names and associated basic bibliographical details of all seed plants
Mitomap: a human mitochondrial genome database -- Genome database of polymorphisms and mutations of the human mitochondrial DNA
  National Center for Biotechnology Information  --  Includes, among many other resources, PubMed , BLAST , OMIM , Taxonomy Browser , and the NCBI Structure Group
 

National Institutes of Health -- General health information, publications, news, and events; grants and funding opportunities;
health resources; and an annotated directory of the more than twenty-five individual medical and research organizations that make up the US National Institutes of Health

  U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service -- Species --- provides technical information about plant & animal species, updates on legislation & policy regarding species management & details about species conservation status.  Includes Endangered Species, Birds, Invasive Species, and Pollinators
  National Library of Medicine -- Includes, among many other resources, the specialized databases US Drug Information and  AIDS info , and a Chemical Information with information on drugs, pesticides, environmental pollutants, and other potential toxins.
