Databases useful for background information:

Spanish Reference Center -- "a comprehensive encyclopedia in the Spanish language. It includes PlanetaSaber and Enciclopedia Juvenil. PlanetaSaber contains over 145,000 articles, more than 9,100 images, maps, timelines, an atlas, a dictionary, and tables. It is a Spanish language reference resource for native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish. Enciclopedia Juvenil provides a Spanish language encyclopedia, images, videos, and learning materials specifically designed or younger learners Formerly named Enciclopedia Universal en Espanol)

Databases useful for the study of Spanish Literature & Culture:

Academic Search Premier -- scholarly collection provides journal coverage for most academic areas of study

JSTOR -- access to scholarly journals in a variety of disciplines

MLA International Bibliography -- consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore, and includes coverage from 1926 to the present. The MLA International Bibliography provides access to scholarly research in over 3,000 journals and series.

Project Muse -- access to scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences.

Databases useful for the study of Spanish Literature:

Bloom's Literary Reference Online -- full-text literary criticism from Professor Bloom and others

Literary Reference Center Plus -- access to reference works, books and literary journals.

Salem Literature Online -- contains "the Critical Insights series, which distills the best of both classic and current literary criticism of the world’s most-studied literature. Each volume in the series focuses on an individual author’s entire body of work or on a single work of literature."

Twayne's Authors Series -- literary criticism of US, English and World authors.

Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated -- access to biographies, obituaries and photographs of notable subjects
