Note:This film charts the history of the American eugenics program under which 80,000 inmates in state institutions have been compulsorily sterilized. In Virginia between 1905 and 1972, several thousand children deemed by the state as unfit to reproduce were taken from their families and forced to live in the Lynchburg Colony. Victims recall their experiences of beatings, solitary confinement and other abuses.
