Note:Look out! Coronasaurus is on the loose! He came out of nowhere and caused a panic. This new dinosaur is fierce and GIGANTIC! Will the town survive this monstrous creature? Open the pages to find out, if you dare! This light-hearted children's story introduces the Coronavirus in the form of a dinosaur, making it a wonderful tool to start a conversation with children, while maintaining relatability and youthfulness. It is both educational and entertaining, providing simple, concrete solutions for kids to execute in order to protect themselves and others from the virus. It is rhythmic and easy to read as each page rhymes, yet is full of rich vocabulary, making it appropriate for preschoolers and elementary students alike. The book was written by Shannon Squire, a third grade teacher from Pittsburgh, PA, and illustrated by her best friend and art teacher, Natalie Steratore, also a native of Pittsburgh, PA, currently residing in Florida. These two public school teachers have a passion for children and education and hope that other teachers and parents will find this book helpful as they begin a new, unique, and challenging school year. At the end of the book, there is a QR code video read-aloud. In addition, the illustrator provides a step-by-step guide on how to draw Coronasaurus. There are also two scrapbook style pages that provide a place for your child to record memories from this time that'll surely be a part of history. Fun Fact: All of the illustrations are made entirely out of construction paper! --Back cover.
