Note:"The first edition of Art et Scolastique was translated in 1923 under the title The Philosophy of Art. Five hundred copies only were printed, on hand-made paper, at St. Dominic's Press, Ditchling. The present translation has been made entirely afresh fom the latest French edition, which has been considerably revised by the author and has the addition of The Frontiers of Poetry, An Essay on Art, Some Reflections on Religious Art, and several new Notes. The third of these additions has been kept in its form of a lecture delivered during the Journees d'Art Religieux in 1924."
