$aFour times governor of Alabama, four times a candidate for president, George Corley Wallace was a fierce defender of Southern pride who was feared as a racist demagogue and admired as a politician who spoke his mind. A lightening rod for controversy, Wallace vowed "segregation now, segregation forever," yet spent his final days seeking forgiveness from those he had scorned. Featuring a diverse cast of participants, including Wallace family members, the video presents the epic tale of a liberal judge who betrays his principles for power, a lasting conservative movement and a man ultimately reborn through the suffering created by a crippling hail of bullets. |
