Lending Period and Fine Schedule

Borrowing materials from both the Henry Buhl Library and the Hamilton Curriculum Library  is considered a privilege rather than a right. Lending periods and borrowing privileges vary according to the status of the user, but the use of a valid borrower's card to check out materials implies agreement by the borrower to abide by the assigned due dates and to return the materials in good condition. Failure to meet either requirement may result in fines and/or the loss of privileges.

  • These fines may be levied on a daily basis.
     
  • All overdue books returned after the grace period ends will incur a $.25 per day fine from the date the book was due.
     
  •  A 4-day grace period allows return of books without penalty for 4 days after the due date.  On the fifth overdue day, the grace period is considered void and fines begin accruing; the previous 4 days of grace are included in this penalty.
     
  • Users may receive a refund for the replacement cost of a billed item if it is returned.
